healthy fennel smoothie recipeIngredients: Use all organic and preferably chilled veggies. Use ice in place of water if desired.

1 1/2 cup chopped fennel
Amazing Fennel
2 cups chopped celery

2 cups chopped pear
2 cups chopped fresh parsley
1 tablespoon of coconut oil
2/3 cup water

Directions for the Mediterranean Garden Smoothie: In a high-speed blender, combine pear, celery, fennel, parsley, and water. Blend until completely smooth.

Variation: You can use 1/2 cup orange juice in place of the water and add 1 teaspoon orange zest for added flavor. You can also throw in some of your favorite protein such as beef, whey, or vegan protein. If you do add protein, add more water. These recommendations would change the caloric value from above.

Fennel is delicious and nutritious. I have recommend fennel to patients because it may lower blood pressure. It is also great for digestion.

Fennel tea has been used for years to stimulate breast milk production. Don’t worry, only if you are nursing.

Fennel seeds are excellent for an after dinner treat to quiet the sweet tooth.
