Most cardiologists order the basic tests to look at heart risk like: Total Cholesterol (TC), LDL, HDL and triglycerides. If they order anything for inflammation, it is only an hs-CRP.
This is what I call the 1970’s testing approach when my father started in cardiology practice. That is not good enough. You deserve better.
And here it is. My list of tests for your doctor to run. Insurance should cover these all very well. Check first.

- Apolipoprotein B and Apolipoprotein A
- Triglycerides
- Lp(a)
- Hs-crp, PLA-2, ox-LDL, and myeloperoxidase (MPO)
- Homocysteine
- 25- hydroxy Vitamin D
- Uric acid
- CBC with iron and ferritin
- Full thyroid panel including anti-thyroglobulin and anti-thyroperoxidase antibodies
- Cortisol
- Sex hormone panel
- Insulin, fasting glucose, and Hgb A1C
- Omega-3 index
- Serum magnesium and potassium (intracellular testing is best and available in the Vibrant Micronutrient test).
